Cheap Restaurant Food

  • Suko Thai II has a "side" (about a pound) of fried rice for $1.25. Nom!
  • 50 cent day-old bread at Pita Pit on Fry Street every day. Just get there early or they run out. During the summer and between semesters demand goes down, so you're sure to get one. The breads are giant delicious baguettes!
  • Mi Casita has $1 tacos Tuesdays and Thursdays. I've never had these, but I've heard they're good.
  • Taco Bell (particularly the one conveniently located inside the Union) has quite a lot of cheap food.
  • At Taco Cabana you can order a small bowl of black beans and several
  • Sack and Save can be your grocery savior, just don't buy veggies there. You'll get home and find that half of them are rotten on the inside. No bueno.
  • We have several dollar stores, a Walmart and a Big Lots too, but nobody used to living cheaply needs to be told about them.
  • The Denton Farmer's Market convenes every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday morning at the corner of Mulberry and Carroll. The 2012 market season ends on October 27th.
